Silver Beaver nominations for 2021 are now being accepted to be presented in 2022.  The Silver Beaver Award is the highest national award the the council can bestow upon a volunteer.

District Award of Nominations for 2021 are being accepted in all districts of the Voyageurs Area Council.  The District Award of Merit is a council award presented by districts to Scouters who render service to youth of an outstanding nature at the district level.   

Nominations are due to your District Director, District Chairman or District Commissioner by January 31, 2022.

Scouts BSA winter challenges will test the skills of the youth in patrol challenges.  Whether you call your event “Klondike” or “Beargrease” these activities will test the youths skills in outside winter activities from fire building, shelter building, first aid and many other patrol challenges.  Patrols will never know what challenges they will encounter.

Wilderness First Aid is a 16 hour course where participants will learn how to assess, treat and extract in remote locations.  Youth 14+ with First Aid Merit Badge and adults are encouraged to take this course.  Wilderness First Aid certification is required for at least one leader for all Treks and crews at any BSA National High Adventure Base.

Merit Badge Day is back for 2022 and join us at at one of two locations on April 2, 2022 and join other Scouts from across the council.   We will have a variety of merit badges offered at each location for every level of youth.  This will be a great opportunity to earn a merit badge and have a great time with other Scouts.

University of Scouting is back on April 9, 2022.  The theme this year is Back to Basics.  University of Scouting is traditional leader specific training along with fun filled courses to help guide you as a leader.   Learn with other leaders from BSA leaders and experts.  

As courses are developed and instructors confirmed we will have more information.  This will be a great opportunity to learn and meet other Scouters and develop your network of support. 

Every youth deserves a trained leader.
